Note: The following has been prepared from an article that appeared in the 1957 Hendon Local Association booklet that marked 50 years of Scouting. It was prepared at their invitation by Frank Griffiths, assisted by Lionel Siret and Jack Le Fort.
The 10th Hendon Group was formed on the 23rd August 1929 and registered with the London Diocean Boys Scouts’ Association. In 1936 when the LDBSA ceased to exist, it transferred to the Hendon Local Association. Its Headquarters have been based at St Alphage Church premises, Montrose Avenue, Burnt Oak.Its present Scouter is Keith Chittenden.

There is a 10th Hendon recorded in the District Directory, dated June 1965, but does not appear to be the same Group mentioned above. It is noted as being a Rover Crew only under the leadership of Rev Bernard Welling who met at St Joseph’s College, Lawrence, NW7. The colour of their scarf was black and gold halves.
