World Scout Jamboree Poland 2027

26th World Scout Jamboree

Dates: 30th July – 8th August 2027
Location: Wyspa Sobieszewska, Gdańsk, Poland
Website: jamboree2027.org

Jamboree Lucky Lottery

GLN’s Jamboree Units are running a lottery to raise money towards the costs of their trip.

What’s the prize?

£100!

How does it work?

Tickets are £5 each, and a ticket gets you 7 entries into the monthly draws.

Draws take place monthly from 20th February 2026 until 20th August 2027.  Winning tickets will be re-entered into subsequent draws.

Winners will be notified by email and published on the County website at www.gln-scouts.org.uk/26th-wsj

Who can buy tickets?

Buyers must be aged 16 or over.

How do I buy tickets?

From any member of the two GLN Units or their responsible adult.  Unit members who are under 16 years of age can’t sell the tickets themselves – the sale must be handled by an adult.

To keep track of the Units follow them on Facebook – www.facebook.com/GLNJambo

Buying rules

All tickets must be sold at the same price: £5 per ticket.  Tickets must be paid for before they are entered into the draw.  Jamboree Unit members and their parents/carers cannot buy tickets.

How to pay

You can pay in cash, by card via SumUp, or via the Unit member’s Personal KindLink page (write ‘lottery ticket’ in the message, and do not use Gift Aid).

Legal stuff

Licenced by the London Borough of Haringey (LN/000029943).  Greater London North County Scout Council is a registered charity no 272028.

Participants

Eligibility: Any Scout or Explorer Scout born between 30 July 2009 and 30 July 2013 that actively attends a Scout Troop (if Scout age) or Explorer Scout Unit (if Explorer Scout age).

Fee: £3,900

To be paid by: Fundraising £1,400; family payment £1,400; payment from GLN Scout County £1,100

Final payment due by 1st March 2027

The UK Contingent Leadership Team, in partnership with senior volunteers and trustees at Scouts, have worked hard to ensure that this fee is as fair as possible, whilst allowing the UK Contingent Jamboree experience to be safe and successful for all those who attend.

The UK Contingent fee can be broken down into the following costs:

  • £1,333 – Event fee: The UK Contingent is required to pay £1,333 per participant directly to the World Scout Jamboree. As a country with a higher GDP, the United Kingdom is charged the highest rate per participant. This fee also includes food whilst at the Jamboree
  • £1,657 – UK Contingent costs:
    • Travel and necessary accommodation: Return travel from home County/Region/Nation within the UK to Gdansk, Poland. If travelling over land, this cost would cover up to two nights of meals and accommodation either side of the Jamboree
    • Kit: which will include tents, luggage, and clothing
    • Infrastructure: Insurance, event management systems, preparation events for training Unit Leaders
    • Contingency: 12.5% of the non-Event fee costs. The contingency also accounts for any fluctuations of the exchange rate between Sterling and the Polish Zloty

These are the costs associated with the UK Contingent. There may be additional fees charged by local Counties/Regions/Nations for costs associated with Units, for example, preparation camps and other training events.

The Contingent Leadership Team will look for potential cost savings throughout the UK Contingent’s preparations to attend the Jamboree and hope to achieve a lower fee than the advertised total. If this is the case, the final payment to the Contingent will be reduced for all participants.

International Service Team (IST)

IST Jamboree dates: 27th July  – 10th August 2027

Some roles may require you to arrive slightly earlier (up to 2 days before). More details will follow if this applies to you.

IST Welcome Webinar: 17th March 2026 7.30pm on Teams.  Watch the recording of the webinar here.

IST Weekend: 10th – 12th July 2026 (at Gilwell Park)

Cost for IST: £2,760 fee inclusive of return travel to and from the UK to the Jamboree site

Travel options:

Option 1: All-inclusive (£2,760)

You’ll travel from a UK departure airport to the Jamboree site near Gdansk, with everything arranged for you:

  • Flights via Warsaw
  • Accommodation (if required) during transit
  • Coach transfer to site
  • Full return journey after the Jamboree
  • Travel insurance inclusive

You’ll travel as part of the UK Contingent, with a structured journey from start to finish.

Option 2: Outbound only travel (there but not back) (£2,510)

This option gets you to the Jamboree but leaves your return plans in your hands.

Included:

  • Flights from a UK departure airport
  • Accommodation if required during transit
  • Coach transfer to site
  • Travel insurance for the outbound journey

Not included:

  • Return travel after the Jamboree
  • Travel insurance for your inbound journey

This is a great choice if you’re planning to travel onwards after the Jamboree for any independent travel.

Important: UK Contingent support ends when you depart the Jamboree site.

Option 3: No travel (fully self-managed) (£2,200)

You arrange your own travel, and insurance, to and from the event.

You’ll need to make your way to one of the official entry points in Gdansk (see below), and manage your return travel independently.

This option gives you full flexibility but also full responsibility.

Official entry points:

From there, you’ll be transported to the Check-in Centre at AmberExpo.

You must complete check-in before accessing the campsite. Entry to the site is not permitted without this.

Further details on the arrival and check-in process will be shared closer to the event.

Important:

  • The UK Contingent cannot support you with missed or disrupted self-booked travel.
  • Responsibility begins only once you have arrived at an official entry point and completed check-in.

Rafts: Each member of the IST will belong to a support network known as a ‘Raft’. Raft members are grouped based on geographical location, allowing you to easily connect with other IST members close to you. A member of the UK Contingent Support Team will contact you with details on how to connect with others in your Raft.  Here is a list of the geographical areas covered by each Raft.
