Kandersteg 2027 – The Adventure of a Lifetime!

Date: 4th Nov 2025 Author: Andrew Rush

Sunday 25th July – Tuesday 3rd August 2027

Pack your passport, grab your scarf and get ready for the ultimate international Scout adventure!

The District are heading to Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) in Switzerland, the Permanent Mini Jamboree, where Scouts from around the world live, camp and explore together.

What to expect
We will travel by coach from Barnet to the Swiss Alps, camp for a week at KISC, and fill our days with adventure, challenges and fun. Potential activities include guided mountain hikes across breathtaking alpine trails, rafting down glacial rivers, and climbing and abseiling on real rock faces. We’ll dive into hands-on eco workshops, join international culture nights and campfires, explore the village through photo and friendship challenges, and take part in Kandersteg’s huge Swiss National Day festival, complete with parades, music and fireworks! Every day will bring new adventures, new friends and the true spirit of Scouting in the heart of the Alps.

Cost
£1,360 per person, covering travel, insurance, activities, food and all camp costs. No one should miss out because of money; financial support and fundraising opportunities will be available to help everyone take part. Kosher, Halal and all other dietary requirements will be catered for and the weekend programme will be inclusive of people with religious observance.

Who can join
This trip is open to Explorer Scouts and older Scouts who are ready for international adventure, friendship and fun. Participants should typically be born between 30th July 2009 and 30th July 2014, though we will consider applications from those a little younger or older.

Register your interest now
We have 36 places for young people. First priority will be given to those who apply for but are not successful in securing a place at the World Scout Jamboree, but we expect there to be plenty of other spaces.

  1. Send an email to explorers@barnetscouts.com to register your interest
  2. Attend our optional briefing session at Frith Grange Scout Campsite on Wednesday 19th November at 7pm
  3. Pay an £85 deposit to secure your place by 30th November 2025

Don’t miss your chance to camp beneath the Alps and join Scouts from around the world at the Permanent Jamboree!
