Was your meeting place built using RAAC?
Thank you to those of you who have reported to us your concern of the potential risks of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) at your Scouts meeting place.
Safety is our number one priority at Scouts, and we have had reports from a number of meeting places where RAAC is a concern. Due to the number of concerns that were raised, we are looking at next steps.
We want to ensure that this risk is appropriately managed and therefore will need a little more information in addition to your initial report. If you haven’t reported to us yet, now is the time to let us know. If you do not own your Scouts premises, you can ignore this email.
This information will help us understand the risk across Scouts as a movement and will enable us to look at what support we can provide members in the future.
Please complete this form by 31st October.
The form will then be automatically sent to your District Commissioner, to provide additional information, and then sent to your County/Area/Region Commissioner for oversight and sign off.
We thank you for your support to make sure this important issue remains a priority. We know it’s a challenge alongside all your other responsibilities but it’s necessary to ensure all premises are safe for use. If you have any questions or require additional support, please email safety@scouts.org.uk
Best wishes
