Notices of suspension – act now!

Date: 30th May 2024 Author: Andrew Rush

As far as we and the County Commissioner are aware, the deadline for ALL Members to be up to date with ALL aspects of their Mandatory Ongoing Learning (Safety, Safeguarding and First Aid/First Response) is still tomorrow 31st May.

The last information that was circulated advised that after 31st May HQ will instruct Commissioners to initiate role suspensions.

To ensure that nobody is still unaware of this, we are today emailing anybody who falls in to the category of not holding all appropriate MOGL certification according to the data that we can access.

There is no excuse for not holding valid Safety or Safeguarding certificates, as both we & HQ repeatedly contact and remind Members of their dates.  The First Aid/First Response issue is more complex because of the “period of grace” given during and after the Covid crisis, which resulted in a massive backlog of members needing to get on to courses. HQ consider that this issue is resolved and is no longer a reason for not having attended a course.

For those whose non-compliance is ONLY in respect of First Aid/First Response, their names will be checked off against the booking lists for forthcoming courses and every effort will be made to try and prevent them from being suspended.

London Region will inform the County of the names that are to be suspended and the County will advise the DCs instructing them to act.  If after one week the suspension isn’t initiated, then it will be implemented by HQ automatically.

Any specific queries on this need to be addressed to Roger and Tracey please.

Kind regards
