Know someone who’s gone above and beyond and deserves to be celebrated?

Someone who has dedicated themselves to making a difference to you, or to others, particularly over this past difficult year?

This initiative is part of the Discover Barnet campaign and aims to celebrate the people behind Barnet’s many town centres that have gone above and beyond to serve their community. We want to honour those everyday heroes who make a significant difference in our borough.

Are they happy to be celebrated publicly?

If the answer is ‘Yes!’, please nominate them for inclusion in our exciting forthcoming exhibition of Barnet Town Centre heroes.

If selected, their achievements, dedication and generosity will be publicly acknowledged, alongside a professional portrait of them in context, in a Town Centre display. Their stories and pictures will also feature online through Discover Barnet and can be further shared on social media networks.

Who’s eligible?

This is an exhibition of heroes across our seven main town centres (Burnt Oak, Edgware, Cricklewood, Finchley Central, North Finchley, Golders Green and Chipping Barnet). We are currently only seeking nominations where contributions are associated with each of our main town centres.

How you can nominate

Complete the nomination form, this will include sharing your hero’s contact details, a paragraph describing what they’ve done that feels so special, and the personal impact they’ve made on your own life or that of others.

Our privacy notice is here. If selected, we will then be in touch to arrange a convenient time and place to shoot a beautiful portrait of them and record the essential elements of their story in a short interview. We may contact you to find out more details of your experience with them too.

If you have any further questions, please email barnettowncentreheroes@gmail.com

Deadline for nominations – 6th August 2021
