Down the Decades with District Camp

From Angela, 1st Lyonsdown:

Time travel might not be possible, but there was a hint of it at District Camp this half term.

With the theme of “Through the Decades”, walking through camp was like a trip in the TARDIS. Roman soldiers and citizens in their crisp white togas made friends with guys and dolls from the roaring Twenties. Cubs and Scouts in neon head and wrist bands brought back memories of big hair and leg warmers from the Eighties and the bell-bottomed sixties were well represented with tie dye t-shirts and smiley faces.

It was a glorious weekend with many activities, lots of sun, much laughter and friendship making. Saturday night saw participants parade in their costumes to the campfire circle to take part in a wonderful campfire and Promise Renewal ceremony. Talented singing colleagues from Scout Adventures joined us and taught everyone new songs that included zombies, dragons and a mango!

What a fab camp it was! Roll on the next one… wonder what the theme will be?
