Show your stripes and be a World Scout Jamboree Unit Leader!
In Summer 2023, more than 40,000 Scouts from all over the world will gather in Korea for the 25th World Scout Jamboree. Thousands of UK young people aged 14 to 17 and their leaders will be there, as part of the UK Contingent.
Greater London North County (GLN) has been allocated 4 – 6 patrols to become part of the UK Contingent, which means that 4 – 6 adult volunteers are needed to become the Unit Leadership Team. They will make sure that our 36 – 54 young people will be empowered to be bold and brave to make the most of the life shaping experience that the World Scout Jamboree will provide.
Initially GLN is looking to recruit 4 Leaders to the Unit Leadership Team and 2 leaders as standby for the additional 2 units if we manage to fill them with young people.
The UK Contingent’s vision is to be the most inclusive ever to attend a World Scout Jamboree. There should be no unnecessary barriers to anyone becoming part of our Unit Leadership Team.
- Never been to a Jamboree before? – that’s OK!
- Not an Explorer Scout Leader? – absolutely no problem
- Never been on a plane? – step forward, tiger!
The UK Contingent is not shying away from challenging the perceptions of who an adult jamboree volunteer is, so if you’re prepared to Think big, dream wild and act together why not leap at the opportunity to apply to join the team?
This is an adult role, and considering prior experience, the UK Contingent advise that Unit Leaders, Deputies and Assistants should be at least 18 years old by 1st January 2022.
