4th East Barnet Beavers flying high
The 4th East Barnet Beaver Scouts have fundraised for London’s Air Ambulance Charity and secured a place for their Colony name to be displayed on one of the new helicopters.
In July 2023 the Beavers contacted London’s Air Ambulance Charity to say that they planned to complete the Charity Challenge Badge and to fundraise to support the Up Against Time appeal.
The Beavers sold helicopter pin badges and took part in an obstacle course challenge, raising over £150.
Beaver Scout Leader Lynzi, a regular supporter of London’s Air Ambulance Charity, thought that London Legends – the campaign which, for a £100 donation, enables supporters to add a name onto one of the new helicopters – would be a fantastic way to mark the Beavers’ achievements and donated the funds to the campaign with a dedication to the 4th East Barnet Beavers.
In November 2023 the Charity’s Schools and Youth Engagement Lead, Rhiannon, visited the Colony to thank them for their fundraising efforts and to announce that they will be named on one of the new aircraft. Rhiannon presented the London Legends certificate to the Beavers, which will be displayed on the wall of their hall as a reminder of their achievements.
The Beavers were really excited to learn that their name will be included as London Legends and were keen to tell their families. Lynzi said: “The Beavers were chuffed by the idea that they will be named on the new helicopter and proud to know that when they see the aircraft in the sky it may be the one with their name on.”
