Navigation training for Scouts

Colin and Gill Kirk from the County Mountaineering Team are running a navigation skills workshop at Frith Grange Scout Campsite from 7.45-9pm on Tuesday 13th September.  Aimed at Scouts, with particular emphasis on those who might want to take part in this year’s Chiltern 20, there will be chance to practice map reading and using a compass.  Starting at the campsite we will then venture out onto nearby footpaths to put some of the skills into action.  Participants are asked to wear footwear and clothing appropriate for the weather, and to bring a compass and OS Explorer 173 map if they have one (though we can provide some to share if not).  If you would like more information or to book a place, contact Kevin Munday.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
