Barnet Council celebrates unsung heroes

Date: 22nd Apr 2022 Author: Andrew Rush

This year’s Barnet Civic Awards were presented to members of the public and organisations that have performed outstanding voluntary work in their local communities.

They were awarded at a special ceremony at Hendon Town Hall on Wednesday 6th April.

Among the recipients of the Lifetime Achievement award was our own Tracey Austin, of the 4th East Barnet.

Congratulations Tracey, it’s well-deserved!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
