Danemead Campsite

Danemead campsite is owned and run jointly by Barnet, Chingford, Enfield and North London Scout Districts. Click here to make a booking.

It’s in Cock Lane, Broxbourne Common, Broxbourne, Hertfordshire EN11 8GG. The closest railway station is Broxbourne. Click here for the National Rail Journey Planner.

The site consists of 35 acres of ancient woodland, mostly birch with some oak, beech and hornbeam. The timber varies in density, and the eastern side is a bracken-covered slope.

The facilities include:

Uncle Tom’s Cabin – sleeping accommodation for up to 28 people in bunk rooms (2 x 6 beds and 4 x 4 beds). All rooms have background heating for winter use.

Camping sites – of varying sizes amidst the trees or on the hillside amongst the bracken.

Providore – selling drinks, sweets and souvenirs.
