Archery GB Course at Frith Grange

15 October 2018
Dear Leaders

Following on from the amazingly successful NRSA Rifle Shooting Instructor Course I am pleased to announce we are holding an Archery GB Archery Instructors course too.  This is open to anyone within the District aged 18 and over who is happy to help run archery sessions at Frith for the District in the future, along with being qualified to run sessions for their own sections and Groups.   This is not the Scout Permit Scheme; after looking at the options it was felt that a course run by a recognised body is a much better option.

The date of the course is Friday 30th November, Saturday 1st December and Sunday 2nd December, starting at: Friday evening 18:45 for a 19:00 start,  Saturday at 08:45 for a 09:00 start and  08:45 for a 09:00 start on Sunday.

You’re welcome to stay over night in The Lodge as the instructors will.  The course is a mix of classroom and practical time on the range so wear weather appropriate clothing.  Tea, coffee and snacks are provided but you need a packed lunch on both days.

The fee to attend the course is £60 per person; this is subsidised by over £100 by the District thus the commitment to come back to Frith and help a bit.

To attend the course you must meet the following criteria:
  • Be 18 or over
  • Be willing to help run archery at Frith in the future
  • Attend the entire course
  • Pay,  or have your Group pay, the very heavily subsidised fee
There are only 12 places available and it is strictly first come first served. I will (as we did for the Rifle Shooting course) operate a waiting list to ensure that we fill all 12 places.   If successful and we can support more archery at Frith Grange we will look to run another course in 2019.

Please email me to book your place on this course.

Many thanks

Mike Proctor
Deputy District Commissioner
